I graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage in August of 2019 with a B.S. in Psychology and Biology. During my undergraduate studies I was an intern with the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation where I learned a lot about harmful spills around the state of Alaska. During this time, I worked on little brown bats (Myotis lucifugus) in Portage Valley trying to better understand how environmental factors influence their behavior. Over the summer of 2019 I worked as a field technician looking at the abundance of salmonids and salmon in the JBER area using weirs and a DIDSON sonar. In the Fall of 2019, I began my graduate studies in Professor Douglas Causey's lab.

My graduate work will focus on using Arctic seabirds as indicators of the changing climate on St. Matthew and Hall Island in the Bering Sea. By using stable isotopes, we will be able to understand how the changing climate is impacting the foraging behaviors of the large breeding colonies located on the islands. This will help us to better understand the health and trends of the Bering Sea ecosystem.
